If your organisation is considering the switch to electric vehicles, or planning for it in the near future, there’s good news from the Department for Transport.

As of May 2025, planning applications are no longer required for installing EV chargepoints in most settings, including workplaces and public sites. This means businesses, schools, and community organisations can get chargepoints up and running faster and more affordably, without unnecessary red tape.

With nearly 80,000 public chargepoints already in place and more being added every day, this policy aims to accelerate EV adoption by making infrastructure more accessible—particularly in rural areas where coverage has traditionally been limited.

For those planning ahead for an electric future, including our soon-to-launch electric CVMinibus, this is a welcome step towards a more streamlined and cost-effective charging setup.

If you’re exploring electric options or have questions about preparing your organisation for EVs, we’re always happy to help. Get in touch: https://bit.ly/3W5PJ8p
